“I’ve always thought that science is more than just a way to make new discoveries that will improve our life and it is not just a continuous search for new explanations, new technologies or new medicines. Like arts, science can send important messages that are not strictly related to complex equations or chemical formulas. The crystals in my picture are composed of completely different compounds that interact together to create these amazing coloured and shiny structures. That’s how the world should be!
The Images of Research competition is a fantastic and alternative opportunity for us to show our daily work, our research topics and our results also to people who are not into research.
It has been a big honour and pleasure for me to be the panel choice prize winner and I really thank the Graduate School for the great job they did in arranging and running this competition!”
