Dr Neil Raven began his career as a lecturer in modern economic and social history before moving into educational management and then educational research. He now runs his own consultancy. Neil’s particular research interests are in widening participation and social mobility. He delivers a number of workshops for the University including an introduction to the PhD and the literature review, as well as those exploring a range of research methods, including focus groups, interviews, observation and photography, along with sessions on reflective practices, publishing your first article and preparing conference abstracts and thinking pieces.
