Call for abstracts now open for the 2017 East Midlands Doctoral Network Postgraduate Research Conference: Global Perspectives.

Applicants from all East Midlands Universities can apply directly via the conference website using this submission form. Applications will be automatically directed to the student’s home institution after the deadline has passed. Each institution will shortlist the applications and submit a maximum of 4 applicants for oral presentations, 4 candidates for 3 Minute Thesis and 8 applicants for poster presentations to the University of Nottingham.

The deadline for abstract submission is Monday 19th June.

The University of Nottingham will assess all received applications and notify successful applicants of their acceptance. Accepted applicants will then be asked to complete and return a confirmation of acceptance agreement. They will automatically be registered as delegates at the conference on acceptance of this agreement. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified by 10 July.

  • Successful applicants notified week commencing Monday 3 July (presenters will be automatically registered to attend the conference)

Student’s Union Postgraduate Research Award Winner 2017

Rachel Williams

Congratulations to Rachel Williams, PhD Student, School of Sport and Exercise Science, who won the Postgraduate Research Award at the Students’ Union (SU) Awards 2017 event last Friday 28th April.

Rachel Williams was nominated for the Postgraduate Research award by her PhD supervisor on the grounds of her outstanding and passionate contribution to enhancing the postgraduate learning environment across the University of Lincoln. Within the University, Rachel plays a significant role in encouraging interdisciplinary and collaborative research, acting as a Research Assistant on projects undertaken by the interdisciplinary research team, HART (Health Advancement Research Team).

Join the Women in Academia for an upcoming workshop facilitated by Dr Melanie Crofts, Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of North Hampton.
 
The workshop will focus on ‘Barriers to BME women’ at all levels of academia, from undergraduate student to professor.
The session is followed by the Women in Academia Postgraduate Research Group end of year drinks reception & buffet at the Swan SU, University of Lincoln.
