Pint of Science is coming to Lincoln!

Pint of Science is a non-profit organisation that brings some of the most brilliant scientists to your local pub to discuss their latest research and findings with you. You don’t need any prior knowledge, and this is your chance to meet the people responsible for the future of science (and have a pint with them). Our festival runs on the 20th, 21st and 22nd of May 2019, so make sure you put those dates in your diary. Further information will be provided about venues and tickets shortly.

Our vision is of a world in which anybody who wants to learn more about science has the confidence and the means to do so. We believe that background and personal circumstances shouldn’t determine a person’s potential to engage with research, and we want science to be at the heart of society, a topic for pub conversation. We think that building a culture of curiosity and encouraging people to ask questions is vital if we’re to find solutions for some of humanity’s biggest problems.

Our mission is to provide a platform for debate between researchers and the public, all the while building a sense of community between science fans who share our values. We bring scientists and the public together in neutral community spaces – pubs, cafes and halls – encouraging a two-way discussion that benefits everyone. As we continue to grow, we aim to expand our events to allow new audiences to enjoy and influence scientific research.

Our events fall into the following topics:

  • Beautiful Mind – neuroscience, psychology and psychiatry
  • Atoms to Galaxies – physics, chemistry, maths, astronomy
  • Our Body – medicine, human biology, health
  • Planet Earth – geosciences, plant sciences, zoology
  • Tech Me Out – biotechnology, robotics, computers
  • Our Society – law, history, politics, policy, languages
  • Creative Reactions – art and science come together
